HBCU Heroes was founded by NBA veteran George Lynch and marketing CEO Tracey Pennywell. Their mission is to empower HBCU students to compete in corporate America, big-tech, entertainment, healthcare/wellness, sports management, entrepreneurial pathways and more to make significant financial strides.
Throughout the year HBCU Heroes hosts events including fundraisers, streamathons, eSports tournaments, voter drives, career fests, and most recently introduced an NFT gallery sale.
Amazon became one of their sponsors and fundraising partners in the year 2022. This year, Michael B. Jordan committed to building HBCU Legacies through his influence, passion, and student-athletes. The fundraising included basketball games, parties, career fair, and financial literacy classes.
