Overview
For Oak Cliff is a Dallas-based nonprofit dedicated to uplifting the South Oak Cliff community through culturally responsive programs focused on education, equity, and empowerment. In celebration of their 10-year anniversary, For Oak Cliff marked the milestone during their annual Back-to-School event—bringing together families, students, and community leaders to honor a decade of impact.
CK Creative partnered with For Oak Cliff as their creative agency to help visually and emotionally capture the significance of this moment.
The Challenge
After a decade of service, For Oak Cliff needed to celebrate its legacy while reinforcing its mission for the future. The anniversary event had to feel both reflective and forward-looking—honoring the thousands of students served while maintaining the energy and accessibility of a community-centered Back-to-School celebration.
The challenge was to design creative that balanced storytelling, culture, and scale, ensuring the event resonated deeply with the community while clearly communicating the organization’s impact.
The Solution
We developed creative assets that honored For Oak Cliff’s history while amplifying the joy, pride, and resilience of the South Oak Cliff community. Our approach centered on authenticity—reflecting the organization’s roots and the people it serves.
The creative direction supported a milestone celebration that felt inclusive, celebratory, and mission-driven, while seamlessly integrating into the annual Back-to-School experience.
The Outcome
The 10-year anniversary event celebrated a decade of service to more than 40,000 students and families. Through school supply giveaways, free food, games, and local performances, the community gathered to reflect on progress and shared purpose.
The event reinforced For Oak Cliff’s commitment to combating systemic oppression through culturally responsive initiatives and strengthened its connection with the community it continues to serve.
